The Mark Wandall Foundation was established after Mark’s life was suddenly taken on October 24, 2003 due to the negligence of a red light runner. Mark was in his prime at 30 years old and he and his new bride, Melissa, were anxiously anticipating the birth of their first child. Madison Grace was born just 2 weeks after his death.

Mark’s dedication to his family and friends was truly inspiring and his love for children left a lasting impression on all who knew him. This foundation has been set up to continue supporting children in his name. It will aid local charities, fund student scholarships at Sarasota High and foremost, create a camp for children who have experienced loss in their lives.

Mark was above all, a humanitarian. His compassion, intelligence and love created a light in the lives of others that was a testimony to the size of his heart. His laughter was big and contagious and his charisma could not be ignored. The positive impact his life had in this community and the world can and will be continued on through the good works of the foundation.
